What is a Veterinary Specialist?
A board certified veterinary specialist is a veterinarian with advanced training in a specific discipline within veterinarian medicine. His or her knowledge and skills in this area have been evaluated and recognized by a specialty organization accredited by the American Veterinary Association (AVMA). Specialists are recognized as Diplomates of their specialty college.
Specialization veterinary medicine allows pets access to advanced care and treatment similar to those available in human medicine.
Referring Veterinarian
The best care of your pet is provided by mutual communication between your veterinarian and the specialist. Medical history, current therapies and any other information helpful is requested. A complete report will be sent to your veterinarian regarding your visit with us. Remember, the act of referring exemplifies your veterinarian's concern for your pet's well-being and overall health.
